Also referred to as a "mechanic's cap", it is
found in many period images and closely associated to laboring work. Notably,
one can be seen worn by a Confederate Soldier taken prisoner at Five Forks. The
cap is painted black with our authentic and safe organic Linseed oil paint. It is lined with an option of a quilted crown and stuffed with kemp.
