The original coat, which survives from this contractor, was worn by David Gilbert Myers, Co. F 87th PVI. It is a great example of the rushed assembly of the period with crooked stitching, collar ends that are disproportionate, and piecing on the interior facing.

We strive to copy those details in every way. Our blouse is made with a lightweight, indigo dyed flannel. The body lining is a wool drill with muslin for the sleeves. We also had the Smith Brothers contractor stamp reproduced and each coat is stamped in the left sleeve lining as per the original
